Holiday Season

December is only a week old and Christmas is in full swing across town, with Santa making stops all over.

Last Saturday was the the annual Tree Lighting on the Common.  WCTV had a couple cameras there to capture the event, from the ice sculpture to hay rides to some great singing from WHS students and of course, Santa came to meet with kids and turn on the lights.  We're putting together the full production, but already released a quick teaser clip of what to expect:

Earlier in the day, Santa was meeting with kids at the annual Rec Department breakfast at the Knights of Columbus.  See anyone you recognize?

If you couldn't make it the Festival of Trees last weekend, We're One Wilmington has put up plenty of pictures on their Facebook page.

Santa is back out there this Saturday for the second annual "Santa Parade" across Wilmington.   Here's the schedule:

9:00a - Shawsheen School
10:30a - Wildwood School
12:00p - Woburn St School
1:30p - North Intermediate
3:00p - Town Hall

The event's Facebook page is here and they'll be trying to post updates on Santa's status at each stop.  He plans on being at each location for an hour or so.  We've got a couple WCTV cameras headed out, so look for video next week.

Also... our crew was out this past week taking a look at some of the big Christmas displays in town.  Stay tuned for some video and interviews with the people who put up the brightest lights in Wilmington!

One more holiday season note:  The Wilmington Public School's winter concert series has begun.  You can hear the bands, string orchestras and choirs from the high school, middle school and elementary schools.  We're scheduled to record each of the six shows (2 down, 4 to go), using our new robotic cameras in the Wilmington High School auditorium.  If you can't make it to the shows or are looking to re-watch the performances, take a look!  We'll be compiling all the concerts on one page here.  Or pay attention to our Facebook and Twitter feeds, where we'll be posting each concert as they are completed.
