On Monday, November 20th, WCTV is hosting a Social Media Forum at 7PM at Wilmington High School. The event is being held in the LGI, which is the same room as the School Committee meetings.
We’ll be talking about how social media can connect our community, from sharing ideas to educating the public. We’ll also touch on the “bad side” of social media and try to come up with some ideas for how we can make it a better place for all of us. We’re not going to “fix” perceived problems, but maybe we can improve the online dialogue a bit here in Wilmington.
Participants include the Wilmington Police Department, Senior Center, Library, Wilmington Apple and the Wilmington Community Page. Altogether, those pages reach thousands of people per day on Facebook and Twitter. It should be a great discussion. If you can’t come live, please tune in to WCTV’s Public Channel on Monday (Comcast 9, Verizon 37 or online at wctv.org/public).
Oh, and we're Live Tweeting the event too! So tune into our Twitter feed for a real-time recap of the discussion.
