Have you seen the new WCTV.org? (hint: you're on it right now)
We relaunched our website this week with some new features. There’s a video tutorial built into the home page to help you navigate around. The overall goal was to promote fresh content to the top of the page and make it something you can visit often and find new "stuff".
Here’s a quick list of what’s new:
We hope this becomes a big reason why people check out the new site. For the longest time, WCTV has taken community announcements from local organizations, the town and the school department; and put them on our televised Community Bulletin Board. This new calendar brings that concept to the web. We'll be compiling all sorts of Wilmington-centric events and putting them in one place. You can use the calendar as a tool to plan out your week. Or, if you're with a local organization, we've made it easier than ever to send us your event to promote to the public.
All active WCTV programs are now listed in one spot, where you can scroll through by category. And instead of being directing off our site to our Vimeo page, you can now watch these programs embedded in the site. We hope something new might catch your eye as you're scrolling through for a particular video.
Want to find out what's on TV right now? Or see what's on the schedule coming up? Just click on one of the three channel number tabs on the homepage. It'll take you to the upcoming schedule for that channel AND a live web stream.
Other stuff we've added:
- An online web poll to gauge what's happening in Wilmington
- Recent "Programming Notes" are stacked at the bottom of the page to get you caught up on all the new content over the past few weeks
- Facebook and Twitter feeds are attached to the right hand side of the screen
- Coming soon: A "Wilmington" page... something where we can attach all sorts of content and links that deal primarily with town issues and events
Give the site a test run... either on your computer or on your phone. We welcome any feedback and please report any glitches (we've been clicking around trying to find them!). If you can't find something that you're used to seeing, let us know and we'll be happy to direct you to the right spot!
