Programming Notes: October 23rd – 29th

There was an impressive amount of new content online and on the channels this week. Check out this week’s programming notes below featuring three meetings, a special Halloween episode of a new show, and a video starring the 1st place WHS Cheerleading team.

WHS Cheerleading Competition & WHS Athletic Update
We have two videos on the education channel showcasing the athletics department. The first video is from the Tewksbury invitational where the WHS Cheerleading team took 1st place. Special thanks to Bob Boyce for filming and editing the the WHS Cheerleading competition. The second video is an WHS Athletic Update from new Athletic Director Tim Alberts. Public Meeting On New England Transrail Proposal: October 25th,2016
The Surface Transportation Board's Office of Environmental Analysis held a special "scoping" hearing on October 25th, 2016 at the Wilmington Middle School. The purpose of the meeting was to collect public comments on the proposed development of the Olin property and adjacent land off Eames St. by New England Transrail. School Committee Meeting October 26th
Wednesday night’s School Committee meeting brought back discussion for a trip to Cuba, aiming for a 2018 travel date. Also a presentation was made for the district libraries & media. Full Agenda Here

Board of Selectmen October 24th
Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting saw a report from Police Department Chief Michael Begonis on the Police firing range, as well as a report from the Wilmington Farmers Market, and appointment modification to the Cable TV Advisory Task Force. Full Agenda Here

The Board Room: Halloween Special
The Board Room's Halloween Special is now online for its first Spook-tacular. Join Ronny D as he takes you through the world of "The Walking Dead" and shows you how to master this single and multi-player game.

Rappin’ With The Rep
State Representative Ken Gordon returns this month with “Rappin’ With The Rep”. Representative Gordon sits down with Senator Jason Lewis to discuss election ballot question 4, the legalization of marijuana for recreational use.

Producer Spotlight: Mark Ryan
Lisa Kapala sits down with local independent producer Mark Ryan, who has been sharing his videos from various Senior Center trips.  The two talk about his two shorts about “the Norman Rockwell Museum” and “Foliage Trip” that he shot and edited himself. Video Explorers: Sleeping Beauty
The Wilmington Middle School Video Explorers after school program took the classic Brothers Grimm story "Sleeping Beauty" and put their own spin on it. The explorers utilized studio A’s green screen to pull off their creative storytelling.
