It was a busy week in Wilmington! Check out some of the highlights and a few new shows too!

Wilmington’s 12th Annual Half Marathon & 5K Run Or Walk
Sunday September 25th was Wilmington's 12th Annual Half Marathon & 5K Run Or Walk. The event was presented by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. This video was filmed by Wilmington resident Jim Buckly and put together by our very own intern Joey DeSario. Congratulations to all the runners and walkers!!!

Deb Cipriani Retirement Highlights
The Rec Department held a retirement party Tuesday night for longtime Director Debbie Cipriani. It was a "Who's Who" of Wilmington. (Tom Pazyra snuck in some shots with his iPhone to share…)

Book Stew Episode 38: Kids Picks
This month's "Book Stew" features quite a few guests paying Eileen a visit. It's "Book Stew's" yearly 'Kid Picks', where young readers share their favorite books and what’s on their bookshelves with Eileen MacDougall:

Town Shredding Day
Last Saturday the Wilmington Memorial Library held “Town Shredding Day”. Residents came to the Town Common parking lot to drop off large amounts of paper goods to be shredded.

Board Of Selectmen Meeting September 26th
Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting saw a lengthy discussion with the 4th of July committee Chairman, Scott Garrant. Garrant requested use of the Town Common for both the tree lighting ceremony and July 2017's 4th of July festivities. Full agenda here.

School Committee Meeting September 28th
Wednesday night's School Committee meeting featured discussion on the ELL program and a presentation from Educatius. Full agenda here.

Annual Town Clean Up Day
Last Saturday was Wilmington’s “Annual Town Clean Up Day.” From 8 a.m. until Noon residents went down to public places, including Silver Lake, and helped remove garbage, furniture, and other items.

Middlesex Update: Back To School Safety
District Attorney Marian Ryan’s “Middlesex Update” is back with “Back to School” safety tips from the Lowell Chief of Police, Lahey Clinic, and Melrose Alliance Against Violence.
