Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey at WCTV, as we kick off our Advanced Filmmakers Youth Program. Over the next four weeks, our returning students—seasoned young filmmakers with a solid grasp of shooting and editing—will embark on creating their final project, "Guy-Guy Cereal Killers." This feature-length noir thriller is the fourth and final installment in the Guy-Guy franchise.
The students are diving straight into production, starting with organizing the scenes they'll shoot over the coming weeks. WCTV offers unparalleled opportunities for these students, providing access to state-of-the-art Sony mirrorless cameras, top-of-the-line lenses, and gimbals—resources typically unavailable to high school filmmakers elsewhere. They’ll also be using Adobe Premiere editing software, ensuring their final product is polished and professional. Direct support from professional videographers, filmmakers, and editors will guide them through every step of the process.
The program emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing students to master the equipment, adapt to real-world challenges, and refine their storytelling skills. The excitement among the seniors, who see this project as the culmination of their time at WCTV, is palpable, and we look forward to seeing their creativity and skills shine.
